Motor Coach Industries (MCI), the largest motor coach manufacturer in North America, is paving new roads in public transit accessibility with its fully ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant new Commuter Coach, the MCI D45 CRT LE. Its breakthrough design includes a second door Low-Entry and vestibule seating that makes boarding easy for everyone, especially for passengers using wheelchairs and other mobility devices. Designworks, a BMW Group, worked with MCI, creating a coach that has plenty of passenger appeal inside and out with top-notch features such as comfortable forward-facing seats, power outlets, parcel racks, and Wi-Fi.
Custom Glass Solutions made the laminated safety glass for the D45 CRT LE, providing passengers with clear views of the outside while keeping everyone safe inside.
Other safety features include an Amerex fire-suppression system, Digital Wheel End Sensing (DWES), Bendix® ESP (Electronic Stability Program), and Brigade 360 degree camera system.
